Manna House, Inc. was organized in 1982 following a community wide survey conducted by Trinity Church to determine the needs in the community. The number one need was identified as providing meals for the needy. Trinity invited other churches to join them in the ministry to feed the hungry and glorify God by ministering to the needs of the people - both physically and spiritually. Churches and individuals helped refurbish and equip a building owned by Trinity. Churches were asked to make regular contributions to help with operating costs, and to appoint two members to serve on the Board of Directors.
A nutritious lunch is served to the needy each weekday, except for major holidays. Everyone is welcome, no questions asked. Most of the clients are from Yazoo City but we have a few from the county and some who are passing through town.
